Case from IT lawyers

The Stairov&Co team developed Terms of use for the game Pacwyn and banned cheating.

In Pacwyn, players collect football cards and play football matches. You can speed up your progress in the game with the help of additional purchases. But one of the players developed automated bots and collected a collection in two months. The administrator blocked his profile, as the player had received an advantage in bypassing payments for accelerating development. But he disagreed with the ban and threatened that he would sue the Game Dev studio.

The problem was that Pacwyn's Terms of use didn't allow the ability to block player accounts for cheating. To avoid similar conflicts in the future, IT lawyers added a clause to the user agreement that says the game administrator can analyze progress statistics. If it detects the use of cheating software, the player's account will be blocked, and the game progress will be reset.

As a result, the game is protected from cheating. Moreover, IT lawyers resolved the conflict with the player through negotiations.
